Indra’s blog; About 15 Years of Transforming Smiles Together

So here we are. Celebrating this month that we opened the doors to our practice 15 years ago. How time went by… so much changed, but the most important thing stayed the same; our drive to help our patients achieve their dream smiles.

A 15-year anniversary is also called a crystal anniversary. It symbolises the purity, clarity and preciousness of, in this case, a beautiful story of a girl, me :), that was in love and thought she could make it work abroad.

On one of my many times coming from the airport and being totally devastated that the one I loved was in a different country I saw this van passing with the words “one life, live it” on it.  And it was as if all became clear. I was just going to move to the UK and try out this country and we could be together. Dentistry you can do anywhere, right?

It proved a bit more difficult as I couldn’t really find a suitable job, despite being a dentist, so I decided to open a squat practice, where I could do it my way. An old veterinary place was found and it needed lots of work. It was difficult, but I was determined to make it work. Tamsin and Laura joined me and the rest is history.

So many years of making smiles together. And the team grew with all of these beautiful souls that work hard for the patients we serve. I am so very grateful to all of them for being part of this journey with me, where we try to do the best for our patient by giving you healthy, beautiful smiles that make you proud and confident.

I decided to celebrate this anniversary with the traditional gift of crystal; symbolising the clarity and sparkle in our practice. Clarity being our honesty, authenticity and how ethical we are. The sparkle is caused by all my team members, sparkling to their true potential and working with joy.

Crystal refracts light into stunning spectrums that symbolize all of the beautiful facets of the smiles that we create and the transformations that we make happen. However not all is sunshine; crystal is fragile and easily broken, so it reminds us to stand together as a team and help each other where we can. And I hope we can do that for many more years together for all of our patients.

In these 15 years we have seen significant changes for myself and our team in our personal and business lives; from team members coming and going to working in full protection gear during COVID, babies being born and home families being built and challenged. But in all these times we proved a real work family that stood strong and stood the test of time. We couldn’t have done it without the trust that our patients put in us. And I am so so grateful.

Thank you all so very much. … to the team that is by my side every single day… to my management team that make things happen that I couldn't do alone any more.... to Chris, my business coach, for guiding and challenging us... to my home family that often has to stand aside as mum is also a business woman... to Morag, who is my star behind the scenes... to all the friends that have cheered me on ... and of course to these extraordinary patients that put their smiles in our hands every day for us to do our magic. And that’s what we did…. 15 beautiful years… A big cheers to many more!
